If your looking for something new and stunning this is the right game. It may be only 6 gb but the game is still long and very explorable.
Just be warned that the game is very challenging and can be frustrating. Even with as cool and exotic weapons and armor like destiny it wont make you a bad a. You have to play this game very carefully and tactically.
Time your strikes and when to counter enemies weaknesses or what can make them vulnerable. Try luring them out 1v1. This game is like dark souls.
The game is a giant labyrinth that's quite boring, drab, and uninspired. The Dark Souls series always rewarded players' progress simply with its. The Surge is an entertaining twist on the Dark Souls formula that strikes a tenuous balance between iteration and invention. Surviving Sci-Fi Dark Souls - The Surge Let's Play Tamoor and Dave.
Level up until your bored to proceed to new areas. Dont try to get your hopes up before you actually kill that doomed enemy. Low health enemies will screw you over.
Find all ability hardware or injectables. They will save you. This game is not like assasins creed where you freebee any level enemy. If you have not unlocked or found shortcut doors back to base i suggest running past enemies carefully, especially if you have 5k+ scrap. Watch your stamina levels for this and combat!! Submitted on Review title of CrimsonTokerWorth the $ but buggyI love this game, it's my favorite Dark Souls clone yet. I'm on my second playthrough and almost done again, So why 3 stars?
Because it bugs out and crashes ALL THE TIME! Constant game freeze issues. Now i cant even sync to my cloud save after the last crash, it gives me an error message on start up, and then forces me to play in offline mode. Which is fine since it's 100% solo anyway.TL,DR; Is it worth the money? Yes, but be prepared for some frustration. Submitted on 7/20/2019 Review title of ThePest420What a SHAME!!!I am with everyone who reviewed this game and was prepared to give this game a 4 or 5 ✨ review.tttthhhheeeennnn I got to the last area. After many hours of exploring, grinding, crafting and upgrading (AND ENJOYING THE.
OUT OF IT) the game just starts crashing on you constantly, as you'll see in other reviews. I REFUSE TO BUY 'The Surge 2' UNTIL THIS IS FIXED!!! There are a million other Dark Souls clones I can play instead, i.e.: ASHEN or many others. I WANT TO GIVE THEM MY $$$ FOR DLC!!! But I wont until they get it together. What a shame. Submitted on 8/17/2019 Review title of ZomBeast FaTBoYBroken game.
Unable to finish. There is a game breaking glitch the devs refuse to fix. Near the ending there is an exolift with a switch required to progress at the bottom. Going back up the lift causes a very loud hard crash on your xbox. They've acknowledged the glitch and refuse to fix while still shoveling DLC. Quite a shame because the game is genuinely amazing for sci fi and souls fans.8 months since review.
Games still unplayable for me and many others. Devs don't care. Submitted on Review title of birdmannavySuperb!!Been playing and loving this game ever since it came out; $60 well spent. I don't recommend the free Fire and Ice dlc as it adds overly frustrating enemies to the base game.
But do get the Walk In The Park and Good Bad Augmented dlcs as they are both excellent. Combat and exploration are what The Surge is all about but I want to give a special nod to the story which is well written and affecting; check out what happens in the board room at the Executive Forum. Also don't miss the Maddy sidequest, it's very good. While you're at it, don't miss out on Lords of the Fallen, which is equally superb, and of which The Surge is a spiritual successor.
Submitted on 9/12/2019 Review title of Gimmickss3 stars?? Read this for an in depth review.Great DS clone with a few added mechanics to combat. Single player with story all audio you dont have to read anything except item description etc. Ive experienced quite a few crashes(maybe 6) once i load back up i am in the same exact spot nothing lost so this flaw should be ignored.
Farming new sets or upgrades are somewhat normal(new set schematics are very easy to farm). Upgrade mats farm wise are the average. Combat needs to be strategic otherwise you might die.
You have a certain time limit to obtain your scrap upon death(scrap=souls) you can kill mobs to increase the time. Bosses that i have encountered require certain strats just like DS. There are 5 diffrent classes of weapons with their own proficient lvl(higher lvl=more dmg) be sure to use each weapon as they have their own combos. Interlinked world with shortcuts back to base as you progress that level(Acts in this case) As a last note I do not usually write reviews but this is at 3 stars.(why?) its on gamepass for free. Submitted on 8/4/2019 Review title of xX LucidWays XxGrind and Grow. NOT FOR WEAK GAMERSIt's crazy how people are complaining about the difficulty and the fact that there is no map.
This game is made for people to grind and grow. Trust me when i say you will learn the layout or become overpowered.
Enemy progression is based on story progression, not your character's personal level. If the enemies are too difficult then get stronger and come back. All the enemies have specific attacks which requires you to progressively switch your armor, weapons, and armor implants throughout your play through. The storyline is great, the fighting system is fun, and the boss fights make you feel accomplished. Aside from a buggy loading screen, a few crashes, and a couple bad camera angles, this is by far one of the best games to come out.
